Terms of Service
Last updated: February 3, 2026
📜 Terms of Service in Plain English
We know legal documents can be overwhelming. Here's what you really need to know:
- ✓You own your content. The recipes and meal plans you create belong to you. We just need permission to run the service.
- ✓18+ accounts. Only adults can create accounts, but parents can create profiles for household members (including kids) to track their meals.
- ✓Subscriptions auto-renew. If you sign up for Pro, you'll be charged automatically unless you cancel before the next billing cycle.
- ✓Not medical advice. Our nutrition info is for guidance only—always consult a healthcare professional for health decisions.
- ✓AI can make mistakes. AI-generated content (recipes, nutrition estimates) may be inaccurate—please verify important information.
- ✓You can cancel anytime. Your access continues until the end of your paid period.
- ✓Disputes go to arbitration. Most legal disagreements are resolved through binding arbitration rather than court (you can opt out within 30 days).

- Who may use the Services? Only adults 18+ may create accounts. Parents can create dependent profiles for household members including children.
- Who owns what? We own the platform and core content. You retain ownership of what you create (like your recipes and meal plans), and you're giving us the permissions we need to provide the Service to you. Learn More
- What happens if I sign up for Pro? You'll provide a payment method and will be automatically charged at the start of each billing cycle unless you cancel. Your subscription auto-renews unless you choose to cancel prior to the end of the subscription period. Learn More

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using the Sabor website ("Website"), mobile applications ("App(s)") and services (collectively, the "Services"), signing up for an account, or indicating your consent, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"), our Privacy Policy ("Privacy Policy") and any Community Guidelines (collectively, the "Sabor Terms"). Services are provided to you by Sabor and its affiliates ("Sabor", "we", "us", or "our").
If you do not agree to any part of the Sabor Terms, you may not use the Services.
THESE TERMS INCLUDE A BINDING ARBITRATION AGREEMENT AND A CLASS ACTION WAIVER IN SECTION 12. THIS PROVISION AFFECTS YOUR RIGHTS TO RESOLVE DISPUTES WITH SABOR AND YOU SHOULD REVIEW IT CAREFULLY.
You agree that the agreement formed by the Sabor Terms is like any written, negotiated agreement signed by you, and you agree to be bound by, and fully comply with, its terms. You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights, power, and authority to enter into this agreement and to perform your obligations hereunder.
The Sabor Terms were written in English and to the extent a translated version of the Sabor Terms conflict with the English version, the English version controls.
2. Registration, Accounts, Services
Who can use the Services
Account Creation: You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the Services.
Dependent and Household Member Profiles: While children cannot create their own accounts, account holders may create profiles for household members, including children, to track meals, nutrition, and eating habits on their behalf. These profiles exist under the account holder's account, and the account holder retains full control over all information entered about their household members. The account holder is solely responsible for all information they enter about their children and must comply with applicable laws regarding data collection about minors.
No Direct Child Access: Children under 18 may not access the Service independently, create their own accounts, or receive direct login credentials. Dependent profiles do not provide independent access to the Service. All data entry and management for dependent profiles is performed by the account holder.
We take reasonable measures designed to prevent individuals under the age of 18 from creating an account. If we become aware that an individual under 18 has created an account, we will investigate and if applicable, take steps to remove the data and delete that individual's account.
You represent and warrant that you have verified in your own jurisdiction if your use of the Services is allowed, that you will perform under these Sabor Terms in compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations, and that all information you provide in connection with your access to or use of the Services is true, accurate, and complete to the best of your knowledge and belief.
Your Account
You may need to register for a Sabor account to access or use the Services. When you create an account for our Services, you agree to provide us with accurate and complete information as part of the registration process and keep that information up to date.
You agree to create only one account for your own personal use and not share your account with others. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the password associated with your account. You accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.
Please notify our Support Team right away of any actual or suspected loss, theft, or unauthorized use of your account or account password.
You can delete your account at any time. If you delete your account, it usually cannot be recovered.

Not all Services are available in all geographic areas or jurisdictions. If certain aspects of our Services or features are dependent on third parties (e.g., grocery integrations, payment processors), you understand that such third parties may discontinue their provision of services to us at any point and as a result, we may no longer be able to provide you with such features. We are not responsible for any action or inaction by such third parties or any resultant impact to our Services.
Changes to Terms
Sabor reserves the right to update the Sabor Terms at any time and for any reason in its sole discretion. We will notify you in advance of any material changes to the Sabor Terms. By continuing to access or use the Services after we have provided you with notice of a modification, you are agreeing to be bound by the modified Sabor Terms. If the modified Sabor Terms are not acceptable to you, please stop using the Services and delete your account.
3. Ownership and Use of Content
"Content" is all content and materials made available through the Services, including without limitation, images, designs, graphics, text, information, data, nutritional information, lists, recipes, meal plans, software, scripts, and other files, and their selection and arrangement. Sabor Content and all copyright, trademarks, design rights, patents and other intellectual property rights (registered and unregistered) therein and in the Services are the sole property of Sabor and/or its licensors. Any unauthorized use of any trademarks, trade dress, copyrighted materials, or any other intellectual property rights or goodwill belonging to Sabor or its licensors is prohibited. Except as otherwise specified herein, no licenses, express or implied, are granted by Sabor to you under any patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret, or other intellectual property right of Sabor and all such rights are reserved and retained by Sabor. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
Our License to You
Subject to your compliance with the Sabor Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, personal, non-transferable, and non-exclusive right and license to access and use the Services and Sabor Content for your own personal, noncommercial purposes, provided that you do not copy, modify, create a derivative work from, reverse engineer, sell, assign, sublicense, grant a security interest in, transfer or otherwise commercially exploit any right in the Sabor Content or Services.
If any open source or third-party code is incorporated in the App, such open source or third-party code is covered by the applicable open source or third-party license, if any, authorizing use of such code.
Your License to Us
When you provide User-Generated Content to Sabor through the Services, you grant us and our users a perpetual, non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform, and display such User-Generated Content (in whole or part) worldwide and/or to incorporate it in other works in any form, media, or technology now known or later developed, for the purposes of operating and providing the Services.
This license persists only to the extent necessary to operate, improve, and provide the Services, and is subject to your account deletion rights and the data retention obligations described in our Privacy Policy. You retain ownership of any User-Generated Content you submit.
You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights, licenses, consents, and permissions to grant the rights described above. You retain ownership of any User-Generated Content you submit, post, or display on or through the Services, subject to the licenses granted herein.
Content Standards
You agree not to submit content that:
- Violates any laws or regulations
- Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
- Contains harmful, offensive, or inappropriate material
- Contains malware or malicious code
- Violates the privacy of others
- Is false, misleading, or deceptive
- Promotes illegal activities
We reserve the right to remove any User-Generated Content that violates these Terms or that we determine, in our sole discretion, is otherwise objectionable.
4. Subscription and Payment Terms
Sabor offers both free and paid subscription services ("Pro" subscription). This section applies to paid subscriptions.
4.1 Subscription Plans
We offer subscription plans with different billing cycles (weekly, monthly, or annual). The features, pricing, and billing cycles for each subscription plan are displayed on our pricing page and may change from time to time.
4.2 Payment and Billing
When you subscribe to a paid plan, you will be required to provide a valid payment method. You authorize us to charge your payment method for all fees associated with your subscription. All fees are in the currency displayed at the time of purchase and are exclusive of applicable taxes, which you are responsible for paying.
By providing a payment method, you represent and warrant that you are authorized to use the payment method and that the payment information you provide is accurate and complete.
4.3 Auto-Renewal
Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel prior to the end of the subscription period. You will be charged the then-current subscription fee at the start of each new billing cycle. If your payment method fails or your account is past due, we may suspend or cancel your subscription.
4.4 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting our support team. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing cycle. You will continue to have access to Pro features until the end of your paid period. After cancellation, your account will revert to the free tier.
We reserve the right to cancel your subscription immediately if you violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity.
4.5 Refunds
Subscription fees are generally non-refundable. However, we may provide refunds or credits at our sole discretion in certain circumstances, such as technical issues that prevent you from using the Service or billing errors. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, please contact our support team.
App Store Purchases: For purchases made through third-party app stores (such as Apple App Store or Google Play Store), the refund policy of that app store applies. Please refer to the respective app store's refund policy for information about requesting a refund for purchases made through their platform.
4.6 Trial Periods
We may offer free trial periods for Pro subscriptions. If you are eligible for a trial, you may be required to provide a payment method. At the end of the trial period, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription and you will be charged unless you cancel before the trial ends. You may only use one trial per account.
4.7 Price Changes
We reserve the right to change our subscription prices at any time. We will provide you with reasonable notice of any price changes. If you do not agree to the new price, you may cancel your subscription before the price change takes effect.
5. Health and Safety
Important Medical Disclaimer: The nutrition information, meal recommendations, dietary guidance, and all other health-related content provided by Sabor are for informational and educational purposes only and should not be considered medical, professional dietary, or healthcare advice. Always consult with a qualified healthcare provider, registered dietitian, or other qualified health professional before making significant changes to your diet, nutrition plan, or lifestyle, especially if you have any medical conditions, food allergies, or dietary restrictions.
Not a Medical Service: Sabor is not a medical service, healthcare provider, or licensed nutritionist. We do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. The Service is not intended to replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
5.1 Food Allergies and Dietary Restrictions
Users with food allergies, dietary restrictions, or medical conditions must verify all ingredient and nutrition information independently. We make reasonable efforts to provide accurate nutrition information, but we cannot guarantee the accuracy or completeness of all nutrition data, ingredient lists, or allergen information. Always read product labels and consult with healthcare providers about food allergies and dietary restrictions.
If you have a severe food allergy, you should not rely solely on the information provided through the Service. Always verify ingredients with the actual product packaging and consult with your healthcare provider.
5.2 Emergency Situations
If you experience a medical emergency, severe allergic reaction, or any other health crisis, seek immediate medical attention. Do not use the Service to seek emergency medical help. Call your local emergency services (e.g., 911 in North America) immediately.
5.3 User Responsibility
You are solely responsible for your health and dietary decisions. You acknowledge that you are using the Service at your own risk and that Sabor is not responsible for any health issues, allergic reactions, or other consequences that may result from your use of the Service or reliance on any information provided through the Service.
5.4 Nutritional Data Accuracy
While we strive to provide accurate nutritional information, nutritional data may vary based on product brands, preparation methods, serving sizes, and other factors. Nutritional information provided through the Service is estimates and should not be considered exact. Always verify critical nutritional information, especially if you are managing a medical condition or following a specific diet plan.
6. AI-Generated Content
Sabor uses artificial intelligence to generate meal recommendations, recipe suggestions, and other content. While we strive for accuracy and quality, AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies. You should review and verify all AI-generated content before relying on it, especially for nutritional information, ingredient lists, and cooking instructions.
AI-generated content is provided "as is" and we do not guarantee its accuracy, completeness, or suitability for your specific needs. You are responsible for verifying all AI-generated content and using your own judgment when making decisions based on such content.
7. Restrictions
You agree not to:

8.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data
Sabor does not and will not sell your personal information to third parties. Unlike many other services, we do not sell your personal data, browsing history, or any information about you to advertisers, data brokers, or any third parties for their marketing or commercial purposes. Your data is yours, and we respect that.
We only share your information in limited circumstances, such as with service providers who help us operate our platform under strict contractual obligations, when you explicitly choose to share content publicly, or when required by law. All such sharing is done in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
8.2 Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data. You can exercise these rights through your account settings or by contacting us. For more information, see our Privacy Policy.

All third-party service providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify. They are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes or to sell your data.
If a third-party service discontinues its services or changes its terms, we may no longer be able to provide certain features that depend on that service. We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from the unavailability or changes to third-party services.
10. No Warranties
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or course of performance. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that defects will be corrected.
We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information on the Service. We disclaim all liability and responsibility arising from any reliance placed on such materials by you or any other user of the Service, or by anyone who may be informed of any of its contents.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Sabor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:
- Your use or inability to use the Service
- Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein
- Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from the Service

- Any changes to the Service, including the discontinuation of features or services
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the use of or any inability to use any portion of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months prior to the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred dollars ($100), whichever is greater.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Sabor, its affiliates, licensors, and service providers, and its and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, suppliers, successors, and assigns from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms or your use of the Service, including, but not limited to, your User-Generated Content, any use of the Service's content, services, and products other than as expressly authorized in these Terms, or your use of any information obtained from the Service.
13. Dispute Resolution
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR RIGHTS AND WILL HAVE A SUBSTANTIAL IMPACT ON HOW CLAIMS YOU AND SABOR HAVE AGAINST EACH OTHER ARE RESOLVED.
13.1 Informal Dispute Resolution
Before filing a claim against Sabor, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at legal@trysabor.com with a description of your claim. We will try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting you via email. If we cannot resolve the dispute within 60 days, you may bring a formal proceeding.
13.2 Arbitration Agreement
You and Sabor agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the breach, termination, enforcement, interpretation, or validity thereof, or the use of the Services (collectively, "Disputes") will be settled by binding arbitration, except that each party retains the right to bring an individual action in small claims court and the right to seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent the actual or threatened infringement, misappropriation, or violation of a party's copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, patents, or other intellectual property rights.
Enforceability: Where mandatory arbitration is not permitted by applicable law, this provision shall not apply and disputes will be resolved in a court of competent jurisdiction.
You acknowledge and agree that you and Sabor are each waiving the right to a trial by jury or to participate as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class action or representative proceeding. Further, unless both you and Sabor otherwise agree in writing, the arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims and may not otherwise preside over any form of any class or representative proceeding.
13.3 Arbitration Rules and Governing Law
The arbitration will be administered by the Canadian Arbitration Association (CAA) or, if the CAA is not available, by another recognized arbitration organization in Canada. The arbitration will be conducted in accordance with the applicable arbitration rules. The seat of arbitration shall be Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The arbitration will be conducted in the English language.
These Terms and any Disputes will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada and the laws of British Columbia, without regard to conflict of law principles.
13.4 Class Action Waiver
YOU AND SABOR AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. Further, unless both you and Sabor agree otherwise, the arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims and may not otherwise preside over any form of a representative or class proceeding.
13.5 Time Limits
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, YOU AGREE THAT ANY ACTION ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO ANY DISPUTE MUST COMMENCE WITHIN ONE YEAR AFTER THE CAUSE OF ACTION ACCRUES. OTHERWISE, THAT ACTION IS PERMANENTLY BARRED.
13.6 Opt-Out
NOTWITHSTANDING ANYTHING TO THE CONTRARY IN THIS ARBITRATION AGREEMENT, YOU MAY OPT OUT OF THIS ARBITRATION AGREEMENT WITHIN THIRTY (30) DAYS FROM THE EARLIER OF: (1) THE DATE YOU FIRST ACCEPT THESE TERMS, OR (2) THE DATE YOU FIRST AGREED OR ASSENTED TO AN AGREEMENT WITH SABOR THAT CONTAINED AN ARBITRATION PROVISION.
The opt-out notice must be postmarked no later than the applicable deadline and emailed to: legal@trysabor.com. The opt-out notice must state that you do not agree to this Arbitration Agreement and must include your name, address, phone number and email address. This procedure is the only way you can opt out of this Arbitration Agreement, and failure to comply strictly with this procedure and the applicable deadline automatically will render the opt-out notice null and void. If you opt out of the arbitration provision, all other parts of this Dispute Resolution section will continue to apply.
14. International Terms
If you are not a Canadian resident and you are accessing our Services from outside Canada, you agree to transfer certain information outside your location to us, and that you will follow all the laws that apply to you.
You represent and warrant that you are not (a) located in a country subject to a Canadian Government embargo, or designated by the Canadian Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, or (b) listed on any Canadian Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
We provide our Services for a global community of users. Our servers and operations are, however, located primarily in Canada, and our policies and procedures are based primarily on Canadian law. Because of this, the following provisions apply specifically to users located outside of Canada:
- You consent to the transfer, storage, and processing of your information, including but not limited to User-Generated Content and any personal information, to and in Canada and/or other countries, subject to our Privacy Policy
- If you are using the Services from a location embargoed by Canada, or are on the Canadian Government's list of "Specially Designated Nationals," you are not authorized to access or make use of the Services
- You agree to comply with all local laws, rules, and regulations including, without limitation, all laws, rules, and regulations in effect in the location in which you reside and the location from which you access the Services
The Services are not intended for distribution to, or use by, any person or entity in any jurisdiction or location where such distribution or use would be contrary to law or regulation, or that which would subject Sabor or its affiliates to any registration requirement within such jurisdiction or location.
15. Survival
If our relationship or these Terms terminate, it will not limit any of our other rights or remedies, and any provision of these Terms that must survive in order to give proper effect to the intent and purpose of these Terms will survive termination, including without limitation Sections 3 (Ownership and Use of Content), 5 (Health and Safety), 7 (Restrictions), 10 (No Warranties), 11 (Limitation of Liability), 12 (Indemnification), 13 (Dispute Resolution), 14 (International Terms), 15 (Survival), and 16 (Miscellaneous).
16. Miscellaneous
You agree that no joint venture, partnership, employment, or agency relationship exists between you and us as a result of the Sabor Terms or your use of the Services. The Sabor Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us with respect to your use of the Services.
Our failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of the Sabor Terms does not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. If any provision of the Sabor Terms is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, the parties nevertheless agree that the court should endeavor to give effect to the parties' intentions as reflected in the provision, and the other provisions of the Sabor Terms remain in full force and effect.
You may not assign, delegate, or otherwise transfer your account or your obligations under these Sabor Terms without our prior written consent. We have the right, in our sole discretion, to transfer or assign all or any part of our rights under these Sabor Terms and will have the right to delegate or use third-party contractors to fulfill our duties and obligations under these Sabor Terms and in connection with the Services.
Our notice to you via email, regular mail, or notices or links displayed in connection with the Services constitutes acceptable notice to you under the Sabor Terms. We are not responsible for your failure to receive notice if email is quarantined by your email security system (e.g., "junk" or "spam" folder) or if you fail to update your email address. Notice will be considered received forty-eight hours after it is sent if transmitted via email or regular mail.
